Giant Steps is Grateful

Giant Steps programs took the past week off for Thanksgiving Break, and while the time off may have looked different from years past due to the current health pandemic, there are still many things we can be thankful for.

Recently during program specific meetings in the Day School, our teams identified things we are grateful for;

Parents shared words of gratitude for our teams as well;

Our entire organization is thankful for the many individuals around the world who participated in our Annual 5K walk “Going the Distance”, which was held virtually this year for the first time. This unique platform allowed participation from all over the world.  Family members and friends of Giant Steps participated from New York, Colorado, and Missouri as well as England, Ireland and India!

Another unique opportunity presented itself in that our participants could choose when and where they completed the 5K walk.  The timeline to complete the 5K started in August and ended on October 31st, so individuals could break up the walk into smaller distances or complete the entire 5K in one shot depending on the weather in their area. This year we had 200 individuals register to participate and we raised $104,038!

Giant Steps wishes our staff, families, and community members a safe and enjoyable holiday season!
