Celebrating Black History

This month, February of 2019 represents the 43rd year that Black History month has been celebrated and recognized. In 1926, Carter G. Woodson and Jesse E. Moorland, founded a special week to bring awareness to the accomplishments of African Americans.

Originally it began as one week of appreciation for African
Americans. In 1976, President Ford increased the week to a full month of Black History celebrations.

Today, Americans from all walks of life celebrate February as Black History Month. Each year, we highlight and celebrate the successes of African Americans throughout the month of February.
