Music is MORE Than Sound, Music Therapy at Giant Steps

“Our Music Therapy Showcase is now the First Annual Music Therapy Showcase! Students from Giant Steps classes Noble, Palmer, Oz, and Acadia performed for each other, staff, and families to show off the skills they have learned in music therapy sessions every week.  Some of the skills involved: modulation to use the appropriate amount of force and rate to play instruments at the correct tempo and/or dynamics, inhibition, initiation, using more than 2 senses to play with the group while reading music, and leading a group, among others.  Each student has so much to be proud of and I’m thrilled to share their successes. “
