Giant Steps Recognizes Volunteers at Volapalooza

Volunteering is POWERFUL.

Celebrating Volunteers is INSPIRATIONAL.

The positive energy at Volapalooza is MEMORABLE.

Every year, Giving DuPage hosts Volapoolza, a countywide Volunteer Recognition event to give thanks and celebrate volunteers from a variety of businesses and organizations.

This year’s event recognized over 200 volunteers and Giant Steps was just one of many to attend and honor three volunteers, whom have been with Giant Steps for years!

Giant Steps’ volunteers, Ron Rohlicek, Joan Kobs, and Rorre Hafner

Joan Kobs, Rorre Hafner, and Ron Rohlicek are three of the longest standing volunteers at Giant Steps. Joan and Rorre founded the Giant Steps’ Library and have put in thousands of hours maintaining it and helping with other events and activities at Giant Steps. They just finished up with the yearly Scholastic Book Fair event! Not to mention, in previous years, they have been a part of the Parent Club and helped to raise much needed funds for Giant Steps. Ron is a huge help in the administration offices, completing various office duties, as well as he helps teachers and school staff to prep materials for the students. Ron even goes above and beyond by taking work home to complete for Giant Steps!

Our volunteers at Giant Steps make our events and day to day business run smoothly. Without our volunteers, Giant Steps would not be where we are today! If you are interested in volunteering at Giant Steps, please contact Julie Zajac at jzajac@mygiantsteps.org.
